Changes to Placement Requirements for New Students

Camden County College is here to support you through these unprecedented and challenging times. We have adjusted our placement testing policies and procedures to help you keep your college plans on track and get you enrolled for Summer and Fall 2020 classes. We will be returning to campus beginning Monday, July 20th for appointment based, in-person Placement Testing. Appointments are required and there will be no walk-in testing services.

Steps to Follow

Before enrolling in classes we want to make sure you have an appropriate level of skills in reading, writing, mathematics and English as a Second Language (ESL.)

Effective May 11, 2020, we have updated the exemptions that we can accept to include your high school transcript and high school equivalency testing (HiSET, GED, TASC) scores. Please see Exemptions tab below for details. Exemptions into college level courses can now be demonstrated through SAT, ACT, PARCC, high school transcript, HS Equivalency Testing, (HiSET, GED, TASC), or Advanced Placement scores or by taking the College Placement Test.

Step 1: Determine if your scores on SAT, ACT, PARCC, H.S. Transcripts, HS Equivalency Testing (HiSET, GED, TASC) or Advanced Placement exams quality you for placement in college-level Math and English classes. See the Exemptions tab below for details.

Step 2: If your exam scores or transcripts don’t qualify you for automatic placement in college-level Math or English courses, please see tabs below to request appointment based, in-person College Placement Testing or virtual College Placement Testing to determine your placement at Camden County College.
