Health and Safety

The health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and community we serve remain our top priority as we offer a mix of online and hybrid courses in accordance with our Return to Campus Plan.

Online classes and instruction
Course materials are delivered fully online, asynchronously. No scheduled weekly meeting times allows students the flexibility of learning anywhere and anytime.

Hybrid classes and instruction
A mix of online sessions and scheduled in-person meetings for curricula that require labs, clinical rotations, studio and related required hands-on instruction.

Campus Access

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors must complete a Public Safety Health Questionnaire, practice social distancing, and wear a mask or face cover to access all campuses and instructional locations.

 

Return to Campus Plan

Following federal, state and local guidelines, we developed a comprehensive Return to Campus Plan that has been submitted to the Governor and Secretary of Higher Education. The College is currently operating under Stage 2 of the plan.

For Students

What do I need to do to enter the campus?
  • To attend classes on campus, you will need a fall course schedule and have completed a Health Questionnaire (can be completed online prior to arrival).
  • To access College administrative services (including registration, advisement, financial aid, computer labs, testing centers, bookstores), you will be required to present your College ID card, provide evidence of a completed Health Questionnaire, and update a Campus Access Form at certain buildings. An assigned Public Safety officer will be present to provide you with assistance.
What is a Health Questionnaire?

It is a digital or paper form of COVID-19 related questions designed to prevent potentially COVID-19 positive persons from entering our campuses. The questionnaire only has to completed once. However, it is your responsibility to contact your course instructor of any change to your health condition. The questionnaire can be accessed on the Return to Campus portal page (Health Questionnaire With Login)

What is a Campus Access Form?

The Campus Access Form is an online document designed to track all persons entering College campuses and to facilitate contact tracing, as required by State of New Jersey. It will be required for accessing certain College buildings, in which case a Public Safety officer will assist you with the form completion. Where do I go to get more information on how to stay safe?
Do I need to wear a mask?

Yes, all persons are required to properly wear masks while on College property (nose and mouth fully covered).

What are social distancing requirements?

A minimum of 6 foot distance is required unless engaged in an approved practical exercise (personal protective equipment required).

Will I be safe on campus?

Camden County College has taken extensive measures to ensure all necessary CDC and State safety protocols are implemented and followed. For additional campus safety and security information, read the full Return to Campus plan.

What do I do if I am feeling sick while on campus?

Students should notify their instructor or the Public Safety office (on site or 856-374-5089) immediately.

When should I self-quarantine?

You must self-quarantine when you experience COVID-19 symptoms or are directed by your physician or government health official.

What do I do if I see someone not wearing a mask?

Notify a College employee or a Public Safety officer (on site or 856-374-5089) immediately.

Will my classroom be safe and disinfected on a regular basis?

Yes, each classroom will be regularly and thoroughly disinfected in accordance with State and CDC requirements.

Is the Camden-Blackwood campus shuttle safe?

Yes, the shuttle service will employ all safety standards required by the College (required face covering, social distancing, and frequent disinfection).

Where can I get food and beverage on the campus?

No-contact water fountains are operational campus wide. Vending machines are located in most College facilities and comply with NJ State standards for vending distribution. Also, grab-and go-food and beverages may be obtained at both Blackwood and Camden bookstores during limited hours of operation.

Yes, a thorough cleaning will be completed after each class meeting and on regular daily schedule.

What is my responsibility for ensuring classroom safety?

The College encourages all employees to adhere to published COVID-19 guidelines. Employees should take immediate steps to remediate any campus safety issues. This may include notifying the Public Safety office for assistance (onsite or 856-374-5089).

What do I do if I or someone in my classroom appears ill or displays potential COVID-19 symptoms?
  • If symptoms are consistent with those listed on the COVID-19 Health Questionnaire, notify the Public Safety office (onsite or 856-374-5089). immediately.
  • A Public Safety officer will address the condition of the individual and determine a course of action, which may include relocation of the individual to a specially designated area temporarily until departure from the campus.
What is the impact on my class if a student becomes ill?

COVID-19 Safety Team members will review the case specific circumstances and coordinate a College response with appropriate county officials.

What are the safety and security responsibilities of Camden County College partners?
  • Consult your assigned Camden County College liaison for assistance.
  • Follow all College regulations to ensure safety practices consistent with State and CDC requirements.
  • Ensure each employee, student, or client completes/updates the College Health Questionnaire prior to campus access. The questionnaire only has to completed once. However, it is your responsibility to contact your Camden County College liaison of any change to your health condition.
