Federal Grants

Federal Pell Grant

The Federal Pell Grant Program provides need-based grants to low income, undergraduate students, who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Unlike a loan it does not have to be repaid. The award amount is determined by the student’s financial need based on the information submitted on the FAFSA application and the student’s enrollment. Students are eligible for the equivalent of 12 full time semesters of the Pell Grant.

SEOG Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant program is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need. Pell Grant recipients with the lowest expected family contributions (EFCs) will be considered first for a FSEOG. Just like Pell Grants, the FSEOG does not have to be repaid. It is campus based funding and is awarded on a first come, first- serve basis. Because these funds are limited, it behooves students to apply as early as possible for financial aid. FSEOG is not guaranteed to students on an annual basis.
