Intro to Curriculum Writing Part One

Have you been presented to write a curriculum for your subject area? Are you uncertain on the process or how to begin completing this task? These two workshops will address these questions and others as we focus on how to write curriculum to align with the NJ state standards to meet state compliance. Best practice, summative and formative assessments are common language to allow students to achieve success in the classroom. With the updated New Jersey Standards, it is more important than ever to understand how to implement the standards and instruction in your Units of Study. *It is strongly suggested that you bring your devices and any resources that you feel is important.
Part I (Day 1) – Emphasis will focus on understanding the standards, formative and summative assessments, and writing learning goals.
Workshop Objectives:
- Understand how the standards align with your curriculum.
- Understanding the importance formative and summative assessments.
- Create learning goals and suggested activities.
- Create a Unit of Study that align to the standard.
