Wine FUNdamentals II is here! Designed as a continuation of the series, offered exclusively to those who have completed Wine FUNdamentals I. This course is a deeper dive into the world of wine, covering additional regions and winemaking styles not addressed in the first course. Gain insights into what defines a quality wine, while taking food and wine pairing to new heights. Challenge your evaluation skills with the more than 50 wines tasted in this course, valued at over $1000 dollars and finish with a VIP private winery tour! Your wine tasting glasses issued in Wine FUNdamentals I will be required for use in this course. Replacement glasses are available at an additional cost.

Day & Time: April 3 through June 5 (no class on April 17)

  • Master Wine Evaluation through advanced tasting challenges and food pairing principles.
  • Obtain a deeper understanding of Winemaking choices and their resulting wines.
  • Discover regions of the world less traveled and uncover their intrigue and influence.
  • Gain an understanding of the importance of terroir and grape versatility.

Sharyn Kervyn’s professional career has been devoted to the wine industry, learning and sharing her knowledge with fellow enthusiasts. She is a diploma WSET graduate with honors, a Certified Specialist of wine, Tastevin level member with the Dionysian Wine Society and Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. She is also an International and AWS Certified Wine Judge (with Merit), and judges annually for competitions in America and Europe, including OIV competitions in France and Germany and Associate Judge for the prestigious IWC out of London, England.
She opened the Getty Center Museum in Los Angeles as their catering director and has held wine director and general manager posts in California and New Jersey, where she founded KdV Wine Services and teaches wine education courses she has written at area colleges, including Rutgers University and Camden County College (Wine FUNdamentals I and II). Her wine courses have earned her membership into the prestigious Association of Wine Educators, and her wine lists have consistently won ‘Best of’ Wine Spectator Awards as the Wine Director for The Capital Grille restaurants where she worked for 15 years. Sharyn currently Chairs a chapter she founded and serves on the national Wine Education Committee for AWS, where she serves as coordinator for the WineSmarts courses, and wrote and teaches WineSmarts II. She founded KdV Wine Services in 2021.
