What is your role at Camden County College?
I am the Program Manager for the Adult Basic Skills Program (ABS). My journey with Camden County College began in 2012 in the OIT Department while I was a work-study student. In 2016, I became the head of the Computer Lab on the Camden Campus. By 2023, I expanded my responsibilities to include Admissions and Testing. In 2025, I transitioned into my current role as Program Manager for the Adult Basic Skills Program. Working alongside Director Green, we revitalized the program and have successfully enrolled over 200 students into ABE, ESL, and IET classes.

What has been your favorite part of working here so far?
My favorite part of working in the ABS department is serving the students. I am passionate about lifelong learning and love seeing students grow and prosper as they obtain their high school diplomas. It allows me to pay it forward by helping others reach their dreams. I can say since I have been working here I can honestly say that the spot light should have not been shine on me personally, but the whole ABS Administrators. Starting with Ms. Aurella Green-Director, Myself-Patricia Wells-Coe-Manager, and Patricia Reyes-Office Associate.

Which of your professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am incredibly proud of achieving my EdD in Educational Technology in May 2022 with a 4.0 GPA while serving our college community. Additionally, being ranked in the top 5 in the state of New Jersey and receiving the Arnold Fletcher Award for Academic Achievement are milestones that reflect my dedication to the same educational excellence I encourage in my students.

Is there anything people don’t understand about your job that you wish they did?
I wish people understood that my role is about more than administration; it is about providing a second chance. Having earned my own GED while raising my children, I understand the challenges our students face. My job is to be living proof that “the only people that fail are the ones who never try”.

What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week?
For me, it’s all about family. After a fast-paced week at the Camden Campus, there is nothing better than slowing down and spending quality time with my loved ones. It centers me and reminds me why I work so hard to help other families succeed through education. I love spending quality time with my family. They are my foundation, and after a busy week of serving the community and our students, being with them is how I truly recharge.

Do you have a favorite quote or motto that you live by?
As a faith-based person, I live by the idea of “Service above self.” I believe that we are truly at our best when we are lifting others up and helping them reach their God-given potential. I also believe in the following: “Never let anyone tell you that you can’t because I am living proof that you can!”.

Coffee, tea, or something else entirely?
I’m definitely fueled by the joy of seeing others reach their goals, but if we’re talking drinks—I’m usually looking for whatever keeps me energized to keep up with my students and my family! I have no preference. Coffee in morning to wake me up and tea at night to relax. Most people might not know that I have designed six websites and written over four online courses. I love computers and technology, and I am always looking for ways to use those skills to give back to the community.
