The Upward Bound Academy
at Camden County College is an academic and culturally
enriching program for high school students seeking
opportunities beyond their traditional school experience.
Created for students who want to pursue college and
develop the skills, attitude and aptitude for a higher

College Bound Program
The College Bound Program is a pre-college enrichment program designed to help
Gloucester City
high school students complete secondary school and successfully pursue a post secondary education in the sciences, mathematics, or technology. The program also provide student support services that include counseling, tutoring, field trips, career awareness events, multicultural enrichment activities, college admission and financial aide information sessions, and campus tours. Professional Development
Division of School and Community Academic Programs
coordinates a variety of programs and professional
development experiences geared to enhance classroom
instruction and student learning. The professional
activities include a variety of programs geared to
providing teachers with a multitude of experiences
directly related to the improvement of classroom instruction.
Teacher professional development programs are available
in the high technologies, allied health, business,
human services and a variety of other fields and can
be designed for individual teachers and/or districts.
Teachers completing professional development activities
at Camden County College receive a Certificate of
Completion indicating course credit or College CEU's
date and the College's Professional Provider number

Alternate Route Teacher Certification Program
Thinking
of becoming a teacher? Already have a college degree?
Camden County College,
in partnership with New Jersey City University, offers
New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey, a new alternate
route teacher education program. The graduate-level
program will run in two stages. Stage I is a 45-hour
pre-service program with guided classroom observations.
Stage II is a 165-hour program includes content specific
courses and a one-week capstone summer institute.
Substitute
Teacher Program
A 20-hour course for potential substitute teachers.
This is a "one stop" program partnership
with the county superintendent's office and Camden
County school districts. The program addresses the
massive shortage of substitute teachers in Camden
County. It is offered at all three campuses, however
it is also offered as a school district course. For

Substitute
School Nurse Program
The Substitute School Nurse Program provides training
for RN's to be substitute school nurses. This program
addresses the county need for substitute school nurses
through a "one stop" one-day program for
registered nurses desiring to substitute as a school
nurse in Camden County schools. For more information,

Contract College Credit Program

Courses - Schedule
Off-campus College sites at various high schools in
the county offer evening College credit classes. Current
sites include: Camden Catholic High School, Pennsauken
High School, Eastern High School, Winslow Township
Middle School, Gloucester City High School and Collingswood

Summer Programs
A variety of activities for students in grades K-12
are offered in the summer. They include: World
Language (grades K-6) and Aviation
camps (grades 7-11) students; tech prep summer
exploratory programs for high school students; and

Brookfield
Academy
This is a partnership program with Brookfield Academy,
an alternate education school, to help
students develop the skills necessary to be successful
in college. The "transition to college" program is designed for 11th and 12th grade high school
students. Brookfield Academy has classroom space on
the Blackwood Campus. Students enroll in a college
course each semester while completing their high school

Self Employment Assistance Program (SEA)
This program is a partnership with the New Jersey
Department of Labor. It provides 60 hours of quality
entrepreneurial training for individuals contemplating
starting a business. Instruction includes all aspects
of business operations including: how to start and
manage your own business; how to organize your records,
taxes and budget; how to market your business; and,
how to develop a business plan. For more information,

Student Skill Competitions
The College offers a number of varied competitions which reinforce students' skills such as: New Jersey Science Olympiad,
Engineering week activities; Math skills contest;
and computer skills contests. For more information,

Pre-Engineering/Photonics (Laser) Program
The Pre-Engineering/Photonics program is a partnership
with the Camden County Technical Schools. High school
students in the 11th and 12th grades at the Camden County Technical
School, Gloucester Township Campus, receive college instruction.
Students also visit the Blackwood Campus during the school year. The program is entering its
fourth year and provides students with up to ten college

Apprenticeship
Camden County College is a partner with the Camden
County Technical School Apprenticeship Program. The
College provides advisement services,
as well as, college courses to student apprentices. Apprentices
can earn a two-year degree in Technical Studies. For

T3 Technology, Teens, and Teamwork Program
Camden County College has entered into a partnership program with the Barrington and Magnolia School Districts designed to familiarize 8th graders with various careers in the Information Technology (IT) field. Students use critical thinking skills to complete hands on projects in the field of technology. The program is further enhanced by various experiential learning experiences on the College campus. 21st Century Community Learning Centers-Gloucester City Public Schools
Through cooperation with Camden County College, the Educational Information and Resource Center (EIRC) the Gloucester City Public Schools and the community of Gloucester City, the 21st Century Learning Centers Program provides high quality after-school and summer programs for students and their families attending grades 4 to 12 who reside in Gloucester City. Students are also provided a broad array of youth development and services for families of participating students. In addition, high school juniors and seniors and their parents are able to take college courses at the two GOAL center sites, one in the middle school and one in the high school. 21st Century Community Learning Centers – Camden County Technical Schools
High quality after school programs are provided for students at both Pennsauken and Gloucester Township Campuses. Through this program, students are provided academic enrichment/tutoring, and technology literacy. All educational activities are designed to meet state standards.
