What is your role at Camden County College?
My role at Camden County College is LAPS Secretary for the Communications, Psychology and Behavioral Science Department.

When did you begin your role?
I began my role on December 1st 2025.

What has been your favorite part of working here so far?
My favorite part about working here is the people and the culture. From the beginning, I’ve felt welcomed and supported by my coworkers, and I really appreciate how willing everyone is to help one another. There is a strong sense of teamwork and community here, which has made transitioning into a new environment such a positive experience. I enjoy being part of an organization where people genuinely care about what they do, and are committed to helping the college, its students, and coworkers succeed.

What was your dream job as a child, and how does it compare to your current role?
When I was a child my dream job was to become a teacher like my mom. I loved going to school with her and writing on the chalk board and at home pretending my dad was my student. But most of all I admired the impact she had on her students and the way she could make a difference in their lives. While my career path ultimately led me in a different direction, I am happy to find myself working in higher education today as a Secretary at CCC. In many ways, I feel like I’ve come full circle. Although, I am not standing in front of a classroom, I am a part of an educational community and have the opportunity to support students, faculty, and staff. It’s rewarding to know that I’m contributing to an environment centered around learning, growth, and helping others succeed.

Which of your professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
One of my professional accomplishments that I am most proud of is the career I built over nearly two decades in manufacturing and supply chain, where I had the opportunity to grow, take on new responsibilities, and continually learn and develop my skills. I’m especially proud of my ability to adapt to change, and successfully transition into a new chapter of my career at CCC. Starting in a completely different environment has challenged me to learn new processes, meet new people, and apply the skills I’ve developed throughout my career in a new way. I am proud of where my experience has brought me and excited about continuing to grow and contribute here at the college.

What’s your go-to way to unwind and recharge after a busy week?
My favorite way to unwind after a busy week is spending time with my family, and enjoying the simple things at our home. I love getting outside to garden and spend time on my little homestead, where I have chickens, cats, and bunnies. Taking care of the animals, working in the garden, and enjoying time with my family helps me to slow down, recharge, and appreciate the things that matter most to me. It’s my favorite way to disconnect from a busy week and start the next one feeling refreshed.

Do you have any hidden talents or unique hobbies? Share them with us!
I have several hobbies I enjoy but some are making homemade lotions, soaps, and taking care of my chickens. I also like going fishing, quad riding, and hiking with the family.

What’s a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know?
A fun fact about me that people may not know is that I’m a proud grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren. My daughter and her husband brought the news to us almost 2 years ago that we would be grandparents and I was filled with excitement. My grandson is turning 2 in January and my granddaughter just turned 2 months old. I love spending time with my family, and being a grandmom is one of my most favorite roles in life beside being a mom. I didn’t think I could love anyone as much as my own children, but once your kids get older, and they have children, it’s another level. I am truly blessed.
