The Center for Civic Leadership and Responsibility focuses on the needs and interests of local citizens. Its goal is to create an informed citizenry with a heightened sense of civic responsibility through exploration of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and issues critical to a democratic society. All citizens have the opportunity to meet scholars, scientists, government officials and business leaders to discuss societal problems and their solutions.
Those who take part in the Center’s activities gain the knowledge and tools necessary to become informed, active participants in the social and political processes of American society. They bring to the Center their interests and concerns, and from the Center emanates the vox populi – the voice of the people.
