General Education Diploma
The GED test is offered on the Camden City Campus. Students who wish to register for the test must follow the steps listed below:

 

Eligibility for the Test:

  • The candidate must be a New Jersey resident.
  • Candidates who are 16 or 17 years of age must have a signed parental consent. The "Certificate of Consent to participate" is available at the Testing Center.

 

Step # 1 Pre-Register:

  • All prospective GED candidates must pre-register online at www.GED123.org
  • Each candidate must print a confirmation page from GED 123 and bring        

the confirmation when paying and scheduling their test.

 

Step # 2 Paying and Scheduling for the Test: 

Paying and scheduling the test must be done at the same time.

  • Candidates must bring in the pre-registration confirmation page from GED 123.
  • Each candidate must bring two current forms of identification.
  • Only money orders made out to Camden County College will be accepted.

 

GED Testing Fees:

Full Battery of Tests: $50 non-refundable fee

Re-Examination Fee (Retest): $10 per test non-refundable fee

No cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted. Only money orders made out to Camden County College will be accepted.

 

Walk-in Hours for Paying and Scheduling a Test:  

  • Mondays 12:30pm to 4:00pm, Camden City Campus, College Hall 117
  • Tuesdays 12:30pm to 4:00pm, Camden City Campus, College Hall 117

 

  • Wednesday 1:30pm to 5:30pm, Blackwood Campus, LRC 200

 

Required Photo Identification (No Exceptions):

All GED candidates must have two forms of ID when scheduling the test.

The first ID must be a current photo ID such as:

·        Current New Jersey Driver's License

·        Current Passport

·        Current New Jersey Non-Driver Photo Identification

 

The secondary ID must be one of the following:

·        Official Social Security Card

·        Current  Employment ID with Photo

·        Current Health Insurance Card

·        Current Credit Card

·        Military Discharge Papers

·        Marriage License

·        Utility Bill with Current Address

 

On the day of the test, all test takers MUST show a valid photo ID before being admitted into the test.   

 

Cancellations (Seating is limited, and failure to cancel in a timely manner creates a lost testing opportunity for others.)

  • Candidates who fail to show for the test and do not notify the testing facility at least 72 hours in advance of the scheduled test date will be required to pay the entire fee again.

 

Test Day:

  • On the day of the test, candidates must report to the Camden Technology Center, Camden City Campus, Room 203 by 12:00 p.m.
  • Without exception, no late arrivals will be admitted since it causes a disturbance to other test takers.

 

The Test:

  • The GED test is administered 2 times a month on the Camden City Campus.
  • Each test is given over a two day period on a consecutive Wednesday and Thursday starting promptly at 12:15pm.
  • With instructions, GED Candidates should plan on testing for approximately 4 ½ hours on Wednesday and Thursday.  
  • Retests are given once a month on a Wednesday and Thursday.
  • Seats are filled on a first come first served basis.
  • After payment is received, candidates will be scheduled for the first convenient time that is available.
  • No walk-ins are allowed on the test date.

 

Test Center Policies:

  • All candidates will be given written information about test center policies at the time of payment and scheduling. All policies will be strictly adhered to in order to ensure a positive and professional testing experience for everyone.

 

Test Preparation:  The Adult Basic Skills Program at CCC offers both morning, afternoon and evening sessions. For information about registering for this program, please call (856) 968-1315.

 

Special Accommodations: Special accommodations may be granted to candidates after the required documentation has been submitted by the candidate and reviewed by the NJ State Administrator.

 

Passing Score: In order to pass the test, the GED candidate must have a total passing score of 2250. Each single test must have a minimum score of 410. The minimum average for each test is 450.
