Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant - New for the 2006-2007 academic year!
The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is awarded to students who meet certain criteria established by the Federal government. Students apply for the ACG by completing the FAFSA. Approximately 4 weeks later you should receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Department of Education. If you listed our Federal School Code 006865, then the College will have received your information from the Department. Read more about the Academic Competitiveness Grant by accessing a fact sheet.
Federal Pell Grant
The Pell grant is awarded to students who meet certain criteria established by the Federal government. Students apply for Pell by completing the FAFSA. Approximately 4 weeks later you should receive your Student Aid Report (SAR) from the Department. If you listed our Federal School Code 006865, then the College will have received your information from the Department of Education. The SAR will state if you are eligible for the Pell grant. Reading the SAR will also let you know if you need to provide any other information to the Financial Aid Office, such as signed copies of federal tax returns, copy of your social security card, etc. Pell can be awarded if you are taking at least 6 credits a semester, and in some cases, even less.

There is also a small number of off-campus community service jobs available. Students should be enrolled for at least 6 credits.
Federal Stafford and PLUS loans
To be considered for a Federal Stafford loan, students must have their FAFSA processed by the Department of Education and they also should submit a Stafford Loan Application/Promissory Note to the Financial Aid Office. First time borrowers at the College must also complete an Entrance Interview. This can be done on line at Educaid (educaid.com). Students must be enrolled for at least 6 credits per semester to be eligible for a loan. Parents who wish to take out a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), must submit the PLUS loan application to the Financial Aid Office.
