1. What is an
Online course?
An Online course is a recognized college credit course
delivered to the student completely over the web. By
accessing a password protected web site the student
receives directions for proceeding through the course.
To see if you have the necessary skills needed for an
online course go to the College web site www.camdencc.edu,
Click on the "Distance Learning" link, then
click on "Self Assessment".
2. Do I need
to be at my computer on specific days and times instead
of attending a regular class?
No. Most Internet courses give students a series of
assignments and deadlines that students accomplish at
their own pace. There may be specific times when the
instructor is available or there may be specific chat
(discussion) opportunities. However, these are usually
arranged at the students' and instructor's mutual convenience.
3. What to
do after registering for an Internet course?
Shortly before the semester begins, the student may
receive information from the Distance Learning Office
telling the student how to access the course, including
the student's Username and password. The student may
then receive course -specific information from the instructor
(information is available upon log-in to your account/course)).
Ideally, both pieces of information will be sent via
email. Students should be sure to fill out their email
addresses on the registration form.
4. Is my home
computer system strong enough to handle an online course?
The College web site - www.camdencc.edu - offers some
suggestions as to equipment minimum standards. Click
on the "Distance Learning" link. Next click
on "Technical Support", then scroll to "Technical
Requirements".
5. How about
testing?
Some instructors use the College test centers on the
Blackwood, Camden and Cherry Hill campuses; other instructors
arrange for proctored sites within the community (e.g.,
local libraries, high schools, etc; most instructors
place examinations on line. The information provided
by your instructor will contain specifics about the
course's test policies.

Hybrid Courses
You will be meeting with your instructor
face to face approximately half the time that you do in
the traditional classes. Items that normally do not entail
discussion (lecture notes, power point presentations,
hard copy handouts, etc…) will be available online.
Thus, you must have access to the Internet This does NOT
mean that you must own a computer with Internet access.
Students may avail themselves of computers in College
open computer labs, local libraries or other facilities
in the communities where they live. You also should have
basic computer skills: the ability to download materials,
send attachments, copy and paste text, etc… Skills
such as these enable you to effectively communicate with
your instructor and carry on class work in between the
in-person class meetings.
If your email address has not been registered at the College
or has changed recently, you should contact your instructor
rather than wait for him/her to contact you.
Also, at the first face-to-face session, your instructor
will review with you the way in which you access the course
over the Internet.
Finally, since part of the course is taken online, students
with technical issues may contact our College student
technical support help desk for assistance. Students may
email him at online@camdencc.edu or dial directly at 856-374-5007. The online course management
system used at the College is called WebStudy. If a student
is having technical difficulties, the student may also
call the Web Study help desk at 1-877-444-4WEB or email
Web Study at Support
@WebStudy.com.
We trust that you will have a successful experience in
the hybrid courses.
