A.A.S. DEGREE PROGRAM
Paramedic students can opt to earn an Associates
in Applied Science (AAS) degree while taking the paramedic
program. In addition to the 44 credits of paramedic education
23 credits of general education need to be completed. The
following is the suggested progression of general education
to be taken concurrent with the paramedic courses.
First Semester
Basic Anatomy & Physiology I * - 4 credits
English Composition I - 3 credits
Second Semester
Basic Anatomy & Physiology II ** - 4 credits
Third Semester
English Composition II - 3 credits
Social Science/Diversity General Education Elective - 3 credits
Fourth Semester
No General Education Courses
Fifth Semester
Mathematics General Education Elective - 3 credits
Sixth Semester
Biomedical Ethics - 3 credits
Total 22 credits
* Basic Human Anatomy & Physiology I must
be completed in the first semester of paramedic studies.
** Basic Human Anatomy & Physiology II
must be completed in the second semester of paramedic studies.
