Degree: Associate in Applied Science
College Code: FSC.AAS

Program Description
This curriculum will provide students the opportunity to concentrate in the area of forensic science. Te techniques and instrumentation used in a forensics lab are identical to those used in a biotechnology laboratory; the difference is in the application. The courses will provide students with the understanding of these applications and experience using the instrumentation for this purpose. Forensic science technicians investigate crimes by analyzing physical evidence. Often they specialize in areas such as DNA analysis or firearm examination, performing tests on weapons or substances such as fiber, hair, tissue, or body fluids to determine significance to the investigation. They also prepare reports to document their findings and the laboratory techniques used, and may provide information and expert opinion to investigators.
