Biography:
I’m very glad to have been on the Biology
faculty at Camden County College since 2000. My primary instruction has
been in Biology I & II, and I believe that I have an important responsibility
in introducing the life sciences to our Health Career and Liberal Arts
students.
My area of specialization is in Botany, and during the summer, I teach
an Organic Garden Cooperative at the college. This has been a terrific
way to get outside and work in our “living laboratory” on
campus. My pursuit of plants has also included a project in botanical
illustration of the flora of the Bahamas.
In an earlier lifetime, I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, and
a park naturalist at Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Personal interests include my work in pottery, which has been exhibited
in the Philadelphia area. Even my ceramics incorporate botanical themes
! I enjoy skiing & bicycling, in alternate seasons – but most
of all, I enjoy imparting to students my fascination with the natural
world.
