Placement Testing
Before taking the college placement test, students should complete an online admissions application.
Test Information
Most students are required to take the placement test before enrolling in classes. The test is designed to measure skills in English and mathematics, and the scores are used to determine the most appropriate placement for each student. Some students may place into college-level courses, some students may need to enroll in developmental classes.
Information for students who may qualify for test exemptions is listed below.
The test schedule is available by selecting Test Schedule on the left side navigation. Students may begin the tests at anytime within the walk-in hours. Please allow 2 1/2 - 3 hours to complete the entire test.

Exemptions
(Effective March 1, 2001)
Exemptions from one or more sections of the College
Placement Test may apply to:
Students who have taken the Accuplacer
or Compass at another college within the last three
years and have their scores sent to Camden County College.
Students who have successfully
completed a college-credit English Composition and/or
mathematics course at an accredited college.
Students enrolled in any of the
automotive certificates, the dental assisting certificate.
Students who took the test within
the last three years and scored 530 or higher on the
SAT Mathematics or 540 or higher on the SAT Critical
Reading.
Students who have met the College's
requirement for (AP) Advanced Placement or CLEP in English
or mathematics.
Only official transcripts, SAT, CLEP and test scores can be used as proof for an exemption. Please send official documentation to: Testing Center, Camden County College, Blackwood Campus Library, 2nd floor, P.O. Box 200, College Drive, Blackwood, NJ 08012.
Test Results
- Students will be given a print out with the number for Advising and their reading and math placement scores on the day of the test. The essay score will not be available until 5 to 7 business days after the test date.
- Results cannot be discussed over the phone because of the confidential nature of testing.
- After 5 to 7 business days, scores will be posted in the College database. You may contact the Advising Center for an appointment to discuss test results and next steps. the telephone number for the Advisement Center is printed on your test report.
Test Center Rules
- All cell phones must be turned off and stored away during the test.
- No personal calculators, dictionaries, notebooks or unauthorized aids can be used during the test. All personal items must be stored away.
- Food or drinks must be stored away during the test.
- Head sets and hoods must be removed before testing.
- No giving or receiving help from other test takers.
- Proctors will be in the room to help with any questions.
Confidentiality
Your test scores will be used only for counseling, academic
advising, and placement purposes. In order to protect the privacy of student information, scores CANNOT BE DISCUSSED OVER THE PHONE.

Special Arrangements for Students with Disabilities
Anyone with a learning or physical disability that would prevent him or her from taking the test under standard conditions may have special accommodations made by calling the PACs Office at (856) 227-7200, ext.4430.
