Critical Care Technician

Taking patient care technicians to a more intense level by preparing graduates to work in an ICU environment. Students can expect to learn: Arterial and Central Venous pressure line set-up, Ventriculostomy set-up, swan-ganz catheter set-up, advanced airway and infection control, advanced wound staging and care, drips and drugs used in critical care, arctic sun and zoll hypothermia set-up, and theory for invasive hemodynamic monitoring.

Upon completion of this course, in combination with previous training and/or certifications as noted in the admission requirements, students will be prepared for an entry level position as an Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care technician.

Prerequisite

Minimum requirements - HS Diploma or GED and successful completion of one of the following programs: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, Dialysis Technician, Multi Skilled Technician, Patient Care Technician or hold the affiliated certifications.
