Teaching After the Pandemic

Following an entire year and a half of learning loss due to the pandemic, this workshop is geared towards reflection on how things are going this school year. Participants will have time to share what is working so far, and they will collaboratively work to solve what is not. The workshop will then focus on the best online and face-to-face teaching strategies and tools for regaining pre-pandemic achievement levels.
Audience: Great for all teachers, but essential for ESL, Special Education. Kindergarten, Grade 1, and /or all K-12 teachers who entered the teaching profession after 2019.
DR. JAY DUGAN has been an educator for 47 years. He has been a public-school teacher, curriculum supervisor, principal, and superintendent. Since 2004, he has served as an adjunct college professor and developed several courses for the College of Education at Rowan University. As the director of professional and curriculum development for New Jersey’s Educational Information and Resource Center (EIRC), Dr. Dugan offered trainings, consultations, and keynote addresses throughout the state of New Jersey from 2004 to 2017.
Dr. Dugan received the Leadership and Support Award from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in 2013. He was a founding member of the New Jersey Cooperative Educational Team (NJCET), created in 2014. Dr. Dugan was inducted into the New Jersey Council of Education in 2015. From 2017 to 2021, he served as the Vice President of curriculum, instruction, and professional development for the charter school management company, CSMI. He was selected for the Rowan Alumni Board of Trustees in 2018.
