The New Jersey Department of Education’s Office of School Preparedness and Emergency Planning helps schools across our state provide a safe learning environment for our students. Planning for an emergency is vital to create that safe environment. Understanding the threats schools face is the first step towards forming a proper School Safety and Security Plan. This session will share best practice options and specific procedures designed to advance school safety and enhance school security measures.
Creating a Positive Closing to a Successful School Year

This workshop will prepare school administrators in assisting teachers to cope with the pressing issues facing educators for those last months of the school year, such as keeping students engaged in fun activities, useful learning tools, classroom events and “end of year” wrap up reminders. Short cuts to required yet tedious operational items, as well as, fruitful summer growth projects will support starting the year with an enthusiastic and motivated faculty and staff.

Learn about the latest updates and developments in school law and outline what Administrators and
Supervisors must do for compliance. Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying (HIB), Tenure Dismissal, Equity
and Transgender issues and complaints will be addressed.
