Becoming an Agent of Change in School Counseling

Through tips on leadership, advocacy, innovative practices, and focus on equitable outcomes, school counselors possess the power to act as agents of change within their buildings. Serve as the catalyst to develop student-focused programs with data-driven services to build or enhance your comprehensive school counseling program. After attending the session, you will be able to: 1) Create your school counseling brand by aligning to the ASCA National Model for systemic change, 2) Identify critical issues and strategize ways to have a positive impact on district/school policies and procedures, 3) Describe how to use data and technology tools to help promote for your role.

About the Presenter:
Jennifer Grimaldi has over twenty-five years of school counseling experience in elementary, middle, and high school. She is the past president of New Jersey School Counselor Association (NJSCA) and has held various leadership roles in the field. Jennifer is currently the Director of District School Counseling at Washington Township Public Schools overseeing the P-12 school counselors and student assistance coordinators, Section 504, Home Instruction, and School Climate/Social Emotional Learning.
