“10 Essential Life Skills”

May 2 @ 8:00 am - 1:30 pm

Presenter: Tony Rubbo
Time: Registration – 8:00 to 8:30 | Workshop – 8:30 to 1:30
Cost: $149 (Registration fee includes a continental breakfast)

The Life Skills presented in this workshop are: Goal-Setting, Planning, Organization, Time-Management, Skill-Development, Problem-Solving, Communication, Self-Presentation, Synergy, and Leadership.
In the workshop, teachers learn:

  • how the teaching of the life skills is a way to enable students to connect with real-world activities that require them.
  • how to make the life skills relevant to their students by having them relate the life skills to careers and professions that interest them.
  • how to make learning life skills interesting, engaging, and fun for students!

The result is that students realize how important the life skills are for their future and how practicing them in their school life can be empowering and enjoyable while supporting their future.

And here’s a comment from one of the attending teachers that captures the spirit of the workshop: “I really liked how you had to select a career and then break down the essential life skills needed to be successful in that career. This is a great activity for our students.”
