Graduate is New Head Cross Country Coach at Camden County College

 

Camden County College alumnus Wayne Merkh has been named head coach for CCC’s men’s and women’s cross country teams.


The Voorhees resident served as assistant coach for cross country at the College for the last two seasons. Before that, he was an assistant track coach at Highland Regional High School for three years, the head cross country coach at Audubon High School for one year and the head boys’ cross country coach at Holy Cross High School for eight years.

Merkh holds an associate in arts degree in health and physical education from CCC. He also earned a bachelor of arts degree in physical education from what was Glassboro State College.

While a student at CCC, Merkh was a cross country team member during its undefeated 1970 and 1971 seasons and earned first-team all-state and all-region honors. While at Glassboro State in 1972 and 1973, he earned all-conference recognition.
