'Company' is Coming ... to Camden County College's Little Theatre


Opening the 2013-14 Stages at Camden County College season will be “Company,” Stephen Sondheim’s sparkling Tony Award-winning musical about marriage.

On his 35th birthday, commitment-phobic bachelor Robert searches for the answers to love and life in New York City. While enjoying the company of some lovely ladies, he learns about the joys and pitfalls of marriage from five quirky couples that make up his closest circle of friends. The question of his marriage-readiness can only be answered by Robert himself in this witty, piercing examination of matrimony.

Performances of “Company” will be given at 8 p.m. Oct. 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 20 in CCC’s Little Theatre. This venue is located inside Lincoln Hall on the Blackwood Campus at College Drive and Peter Cheeseman Road in Gloucester Township. Ample free, off-street parking is available.

Starring as “Robert” is Matt Reher of Philadelphia, Pa. Completing the cast are Melissa Connell of Cherry Hill (“Sarah”), Karl Babij of Pitman (“Harry”), Sean Casey of Audubon (“Peter”), Kathleen Corvino of Woodbury (“Susan”), Zach Horiates of Pennsauken (“David”), Annie Chartrand of Philadelphia, Pa. (“Jenny”), Patrick Kelly of Collingswood (“Paul”), Maria Panvini of Pine Hill (“Amy”), Denise Buzz of Runnemede (“Joann”), Rich Curcio of Hammonton (“Larry”), Jenna Kuerzi of Mullica Hill (“Marta”), Kat Koch of Pine Hill (“Kathy”) and Shayna Murray of Collingswood (“April”).

Directing the production is Professor Marjorie Sokoloff of Pitman. Musical direction is by Jeff Lesser of Philadelphia, Pa. Choreographer is Angela Wertner of Boothwyn, Pa. Stage managers are Sara Dunn of Magnolia and Morgan Fisher of Magnolia. Scenic design/technical design is by Don Swenson of Pitman. Costume design is by Melissa Rittman of Sicklerville. Lighting design is by John Curall of Philadelphia, Pa.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children, senior citizens and CCC students, faculty and staff with valid identification. A special rate of $8 is available for individual members of groups totaling 20 or more.
