Camden County College Offers 5-Month Dialysis Tech Program at TICC
Camden County College’s dialysis technician program allows students to enter the healthcare profession with just five months of training and serves as a starting point for advancement in the field. Salaries for this in-demand job with flexible scheduling range from $25,000 to $34,000 per year immediately upon completion of training.
“If you are interested in the medical profession, dialysis technician is a good starting position,” noted program manager Terri Campagna. “Many of our students go on to become licensed practical nurses or registered nurses.”
CCC’s program, which is offered at the Technical Institute of Camden County on the Sicklerville Campus of Camden County Technical Schools, prepares students for entry-level positions as hemodialysis technician trainees. These technicians are important members of renal care teams, performing routine dialysis procedures and patient care under the direction of a nephrologist and the supervision of a registered nurse. They are employed by dialysis facilities, hospitals, ambulatory centers and companies that provide dialysis products.
The Camden County College program meets Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and provides 600 hours of training. In addition to hands-on instruction, the program includes instruction in anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Upon completion, students are prepared for industry-standard certification.
Prospective students who are interested in the dialysis technician program must visit Camden County College’s Division of Continuing Education. No other method of registration is permitted.
The next session begins Feb. 21 and continues through June 8, and another session will begin thereafter. For information regarding scheduling, registration and tuition, call (856) 874-6004.
