CCC Offering FAFSA Assistance to Students Applying to Any School
Many college students depend on grants, loans and need-based scholarships to fund their college or university studies. To receive many of these, students must complete the often-confusing financial aid application process and file the complex Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA form.
Camden County College personnel will help current and future college students file their financial aid paperwork for the 2011-12 term, regardless of which institution of higher education they will attend, during a free event on Sunday, Jan. 30.
College Goal Sunday will make the process smoother and assist in relieving much of the anxiety about paying for college, which is particularly important amid today’s challenging economic conditions. During the event, free FAFSA advice and instructions will be given to anyone who requires them. Special attention will be given to the concerns of low-income and first-generation college students.
The event will be conducted at Camden County College’s Camden Technology Center, located at 601 Cooper St., Camden, from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 30. CCC is sponsoring College Goal Sunday for the fifth time this year. It is one of eight sites across New Jersey to be hosting this annual event, which assisted more than 800 families statewide last year.
Funded by a grant from the Lumina Foundation, College Goal Sunday is sponsored by the New Jersey Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators and New Jersey’s Higher Education Student Assistance Authority.
