Camden City Prep

Through Post Secondary Readiness Enrichment Program, PREP students, Camden City junior and senior high school students are provided academic enrichment needed to become successful in their post secondary education.

Who is it for?

PREP is open to any Camden City School District high school junior or senior.


PREP Course offerings have included:

· Basic Psychology

· College Success

· Computer Literacy

· Introduction to Management

· Introduction to Nutrition

· Math Fundamentals


* Courses change on a semester basis.

Additional PREP Opportunities


EMT (Emergency Medical Training)

A 10-week summer EMT Education and Training Program provided by Virtua School of Paramedic Sciences at Camden County.  The program uses hybrid education (utilizing both the internet and classroom instruction) to educate and train the students.


PREP Summer Academy

A two week summer program that allows students the opportunity to experience various career paths through hands on activities, speakers, and on-site visits.  Students are able to develop the skills necessary to exceed in their future jobs and careers.


College Now

Students are also able to take courses through our College Now process. The College Now-Campus courses provide high school students the opportunity to enroll in traditional college courses at Camden County College (CCC) while still in high school.  Students may bank the credits earned through this program for future enrollment at CCC or transfer to other colleges and universities.  The interested student and parent must schedule an appointment with the Division of School & Community Academic Programs Office to register for courses.  

Professional Development Opportunities

The Division of School and Community Academic Programs coordinates a variety of programs and professional development experiences geared to enhance classroom instruction and student learning.  Teachers completing professional development activities at Camden County College receive a Certificate of Completion indicating course credit or College CEU's date and the College's Professional Provider number for current workshops.  Customized professional development is developed according to the District's identified needs.


Curriculum Alignment Opportunities

The Division of School and Community Academic Programs at Camden County College has provided assistance the Camden City School District with their efforts to align programs of study with the new Career and Technical Education (CTE) format using the New Jersey Department of Education's Career Cluster plan.
