Class Starting Time
All classes will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Classroom assignments will be posted at our facility entrance.
Registration
A registration form must be completed and signed by the Chief or Designee prior to acceptance by the Academy and must be received one week prior to start of class either by fax or mail. The registration form is located in the front of the catalog and may be copied as necessary.
Course Cancellation/Confirmation
We do not confirm class registrations. Courses that do not have the minimum number of attendees registered will be cancelled and those agencies will be notified of the course cancellation by e-mail and/or telephone. However, if you register for a class and you are unable to attend, you must notify us as soon as possible.
Class Attendance
Class attendance is mandatory for certificate consideration. Any absences will be reported to your department. If an absence is unavoidable, please notify the Academy. All attendees are required to sign-in on class roster.
Certificates
Certificates of completion will be awarded at the end of the last day of classes.
Payment
All checks and purchase orders should be made payable to Camden County College Police Academy. Any attendees paying for in-service courses may pay by check or money order. NO CASH PAYMENT WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued due to failure of attending the class. Refunds may be authorized based on written justification from the agency 24 hours prior to the start of class.
Dress Code
Appropriate business casual attire is required. No sweats, shorts, tee-shirts, jeans or sneakers are permitted.
Smoking
The use of tobacco products is strictly prohibited on the campuses of Camden County College.
Firearms
Unless dressed in department uniform, law enforcement officers are asked to conceal their weapons, especially when walking across campus.
Telephone
With the exception of an emergency, no class will be interrupted for telephone messages. Academy telephones are restricted to the use of the Academy staff and instructors.
Parking
All yellow lined parking spaces are reserved for faculty and staff only. Student parking is designated by white lined spaces only.
Cleanliness
Eating or drinking in the classrooms is strictly prohibited.
Order
In the event that a Basic Recruit Class is in session, we ask that you avoid any interaction with the recruits unless prior permission by an Academy staff member has been given. In-service students are expected to set an example for the Basic Recruits by refraining from using profane, loud or offensive language.
