Meet the Staff

Kathy Earp Student Advisor Specialist, Acting  kearp@camdencc.edu

Kathy Earp began working as an interpreter for the college in 1988. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services with a specialization in Services for the Deaf and a Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers University. Kathy holds a CI/CT Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). As Student Advisement Specialist she assists with student registration and advisement.

Dianne Falvo Assistant Professor dfalvo@camdencc.edu

Professor Falvo was born in Pennsylvania and educated at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications.  She later received a Certificate of Completion from the Interpreter Training Program at Community College of Philadelphia (CCP) and was certified (IC/TC) by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf.  She worked as a part-time free-lance interpreter in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.  At CCP, Professor Falvo coordinated interpreting services and taught courses in interpreting and American Sign Language.  Next, she received a Master's Degree in Linguistics from Gallaudet College (now Gallaudet University).  She continued to work part-time as a free-lance interpreter in the Washington, DC metropolitan area where she taught ASL and English to deaf students at Gallaudet's School of Preparatory Studies (SPS).  Professor Falvo was chair of the SPS English Department for the last two years of its operation.   She received Superior Rating on the Sign Communication Proficiency interview (SCPI) at Gallaudet.  She worked at Gallaudet's Center for ASL Literacy as a rater and assessor.   Professor Falvo is currently working as an assistant professor at Camden County College, where she teaches English to Deaf students.  She also works as an adjunct professor in the Interpreter Education Program.  Professor Falvo has been honored in Who's Who Among America's Teachers for four consecutive years: 2003-2007.

Cathy Poston began working at Camden County College in 2001 as a note-taker for the MidAtlantic Post-Secondary Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. In 2005, she successfully completed training to become a C-Print captionist. She immediately began captioning for the Center. Cathy graduated in January of 2006 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Deaf Studies. She plans to pursue her Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies at Thomas Edison State College. Cathy is the Department Secretary and Student Coach.
