Surgical Technology Option

Program Description
Surgical Technologists who are graduates of an approvedsurgical technology program are eligible to receive collegecredit for their post secondary education. All applicants to thisprogram must take a required core of courses consisting of aminimum of 43-44 credits taken at Camden CountyCollege.Surgical Technologists are eligible to apply for a maximum of22additional college credits toward an Associate in AppliedScience Health Science degree: Surgical Technology Option.

Program Information
•Students who have successfully completed an approvedsurgical technology program will receive up to 22 creditstoward their Associate in Applied Science degree in HealthScience: Surgical Technology Option.
•Students can obtain expanded career mobility byenhancing previously acquired technical skills with sciencebased, theoretical knowledge.
•Students will demonstrate competencies in effectivecommunication, critical thinking, computer applications,understanding human behavior and addressing ethical issues.

Special Admission Requirements
•Submission of diploma or certificate from an approvedsurgical technology program
•Interview with Nursing Coordinator
