Student Support Services
The SSS project is a TRIO program, funded by the U.S. Department of Education and provides support services to non-traditional college students in an effort to enhance their rates of retention, graduation and transfer to four-year institutions.
The various components of the program offer support services, which are designed to improve academic performance, increase student motivation, facilitate transition from the community college level to the four-year university level, and promote a social climate conducive to the success of participating students.
Student Support Services at Camden County College is a unique program designed to meet individual student needs. Student Support Services provides individual counseling to assist students with financial aid, academic advisement, transfer options, career planning and personal issues. SSS also provides professional and peer tutoring, small group supplemental, computer-aided and study-skills instruction. Staffed by caring professionals who listen and care, the SSS team helps students achieve their academic, personal, financial and career goals.
In addition to the day-to-day services mentioned above, Student Support Services presents a yearly series of Academic Success Workshops. Topics include Time Management, Stress Management, Test-Taking Strategies, and Study Skills.

The program is designed to prepare students for the challenges they will face at Camden County College and beyond. Students meet with counselors on a regular basis to discuss such things as academic progress, career planning and personal growth. In addition to helping students in these areas, advisors work closely with students, encouraging them to question, alter, inspect and challenge their experiences for the purpose of constructive self-actualization.
